In northern Sardinia, the Church of the Holy Trinity Saccargia (Basilica della Santissima Trinità di Saccargia) has stood for over nine hundred years. Photographed at dusk, the layers of black basalt and white limestone summons the spirits over the ancient island once divided into four kingdoms.
